Position Vacant - Secretary

The New Zealand Highland Cattle Society is seeking expressions of interest from anyone keen to take on the role of Secretary for the Society.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure an accurate member database is maintained
Issue communications to all members when required
Record minutes of Council, AGM, and other special general meetings, and circulate these minutes
Maintain records of minutes through SharePoint
Write correspondence as directed by Council or the Chairperson
Liaise with sub committees of Council as required
Receive and circulate incoming communications
Ensure Council is kept aware of the constitutional rules that may impact the society
Other administrative tasks as required
Desired Competencies:
Be comfortable with (or willing to learn) the Society’s constitutional requirements for meetings and voting
Competent in the use of Microsoft products including Teams and SharePoint
Time Commitment:
Monthly Council Meetings – Agenda, meeting and minutes 8 hours per month
New, retiring members – 30 hours per annum
AGM – agenda, meeting and minutes – 16 hours per annum
Other – 20 Hours per annum
Reports to: The President of the New Zealand Highland Cattle Society
This is a voluntary position. The Council value the position of Secretary and in acknowledgement of this may pay a modest annual honorarium for services rendered.
